Physical and occupational therapists are in a position to understand what type of medications are being prescribed and how they could impact their patients’ care. This may involve activities such as screenings, evaluations, collection of information, identification of adverse events/reactions, and education. Additional strategies for helping patients manage their medications beyond the traditional pillbox system will also be discussed.
